The FAQ

Session times?
Portrait sessions are typically scheduled for early and mid-mornings and late afternoons to allow for the best natural light. Sunrise sessions are available and sunset sessions book well in advance. For families with small infants and children I take into account their napping and eating schedule to make sure they are happy and content; however, if we need to take a snack break during the session it isn't a problem at all. Yes, this does apply to the dietary needs of husbands and fathers, too! Feel free to pack a picnic for some action shots of family fun or plan on stopping for ice cream with the family.

Location?
Based in Santa Rosa Beach, smack dab inbetween Destin and Panama City, Jacqueline Ward Images concentrates in on-location portrait sessions along this stretch of the Florida Panhandle. This includes Ft. Walton Beach, Okaloosa Island, Destin, SanDestin, Mirimar Beach, Santa Rosa Beach Dune Allen, Grayton Beach, WaterColor, Seaside, Seagrove Beach, WaterSound, Seacrest Beach, Alys Beach, Rosemary Beach, Carillon Beach, Panama City Beach, Panama City and Lynn Haven. The actual session spot can be as simple as your home or as elaborate as taking a boatride to your favorite secluded spot. You couldn't find a more perfect place than the Florida panhandle for pristine natural beach settings adjacent to sculpted gardens (I am admittedly partial). Depending on the time of year not all beaches will have a sunset over the water, so if that is your heart's desire just let us know and we can help by directing you a number of places, including one or two that typically aren't covered up with people. The biggest advice is to pick a spot or two that you love, be it at a coffee house or under a tree. Often there is enough time during a standard session to shoot at more than one location...I have even been known to tag along on a family bike ride and shoot along the way!

Clothing?
With larger groups simple is better, hands down. This does not mean that everyone has to match per say, but images are generally more pleasing if there is a common element, be it something as simple as a common scarf or a splash of the same color. Beach images in khaki and white are a classic for a reason...it works. But by all means you do not need to be limited by this! Some of my personal favorite images are bright and bold clothing. This goes for children, too! Mix-matched clothing, patterns, layers of tulle skirts over argyle socks, you name it. This may be one reason my own children will flaunt one red cowboy boot and one flip flop at the same time, but if we are dressing ourselves that day then so be it. For children in particular white is a classic and I am a Southern girl who loves French handsewn gowns and smocking, so you just can't go wrong there. If you can't decide, bring several outfits and we can play fashion show. In general with a 2 hour session there is plenty of time for a clothing change.

When will my proofing gallery be online?
Within four weeks your portrait session will be posted to Jacqueline Ward Images's website in a password protected slideshow. You will also have access to an online ordering site that you may share with your friends and family. Jacqueline is also happy to schedule in-studio proofing sessions to allow you the opportunity to view your images in a large format and experience a variety of display options.

Something else?
Feel free to call or email the studio with any other questions that you might have, even if it is just to talk shop. While there are no workshops on the calendar for 2016, Jacqueline will be teaching a class at Northwest Florida State College focusing on the fundamentals of digital photography.
